One of my All Time Favorites

One of my colleagues at work wants to purchase a quantity of christmas cards from me this year, so I spent the weekend creating some samples for her to choose from.

I'll post some of them of the others this week, and let you know which one she picks.

One of my favorites is definitely "To You and Yours".
I just love the cardinal and the sentiment.

For this card I used a bamboo base with a ruby mat. The center rectangle is choclolate cardstock with a colonial white mat, both cut with Cricut AP.The branch is also chocolate cardstock cut with Cricut AP.
The green stripe is a leftover piece of "Everlasting" and the ribbon is from my stash.

I stamped the colonial white mat with the cardinal image as well as a spare piece which I coloured with alcohol markers, cut out and then popped up.
The top 2 holly leaves are also popped up. The bottom 2 holly leaves are coloured right on the mat.

The sentiment is stamped in chocolate ink.  All the edges are distressed with chocolate distressing ink.
I added a couple of opaque pearls to the ribbon as well.
The shading on the cardinal doesn't show up very well in the picture but it looks good in real life.

THANKSGIVING CARD FOR MY WONDERFUL SON

As some of you know my son is in the Canadian Air Force, currently stationed in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Needless to say I miss him terribly, especially when there are family events like Thanksgiving.
I don't like to send him anything to feminine or mushy so this is what I came up with this year.

The card was inspired by one of the patterns in our new "Make it From the Heart" book. (pg. 29)
The paper is Flirty, Colonial White and Cocoa Cardstock.
The card and sentiment mats are cut using the Cricut.
The leaves and swirl stem are cut using Cricut Art Philosophy and stamped with Harvest Happiness in New England Ivy.
The sentiment is from the Family Love set, stamped in cocoa.

Have a great day!
